Default info???

Hi, My name is Evie.
I was diagnoised with PCOS in Dec of 2006. Being that we are living in a small town and the people here normally leave town for a doctor and the fact that the doctor could never remember my age every visit i was a different age so on and his first words were " How do you feel about a hestorectomy?"I found it hard to believe him when he told me i had PCOS. I was put on metformin and took it for about 6 months. I didn't notice a change. I had previously been on progestrone for about 5 years and then when we moved here the doc took me off. I will list my symptoms before the diagnosis. I had irregular periods. sometimes having 2 to 3 a month and sometimes not having them at all. Then I started this really gross symptom in which once a month I figured ovualtion, I would get a large amount of slimey mucos like discharge. Just for that one day. And then the next day I would have allot of pain on one side or another around where an ovary should be. Most of the time regular asprin wouldn't help. So i was off the metformin and a year went by. In this time I still had all the same symptoms but they were only for a day or two and then i was fine. My periods were still not normal but not as bad as they were before.
In november, I started a whole new symptom. I started having panic attacks. But with no reason to have them. I was not stressed, no traumatic issues.
They got so bad and were lasting all day. On the day they started i had just started my period. If that helps. I went to the hospital because this happened to me around midnight. They ran tests and showed my potassium was low and sent me home. It persisted. Having not slept in 6 days I finally left the small town docs who insisted i was having panic attacks and need to learn how to deal with them. No tests to see why i was having them were ran.
Once i was in Salt Lake they started running test. My testosterone is sky high and my androgen levels are high. That is it. The doc there suspected adrenal glands but all tests ran were fine except the two above.
We don't have insurance so some of the test needing to be ran could not. ( like mri to make sure it is not pituitary glands and one other that she said would tell her if it was adrenal or ovaries.)
I came back home and have tried different ways to deal with what is going on. I take xanax which helps. Through out the month it isn't that bad. I have them but not to the extent that it doesn't go away. But they do get really bad the week i am going to start my period. It is the only way i know i am going to start. I have recently started back on the metformin.
Has any one had similar symptoms? I get insurance in June. so hopefully I can get this taken care of. but for now i am trying to deal with it the best way i know how. If someone else has experience similar things having pcos then i can be assured i do have it and maybe the doc wasn't such a quack. maybe the metformin just isn't right for me. I don't know. Thank you for reading this I am sure it has been difficult.
