It could also be the Effexor that you're on. If I'm not mistaken, insurance some insurance companies will deny you if you have a history/recent history of anti-depressants. Not to mention if you've been on Metformin (even if it wasn't for IR and just for IF), you've got a much better chance of being denied.

The reason you had no problems when you were on your Dad's insurance is because it was through his work. Group plans through employers very, very rarely require you to 'qualify'.

Sorry I don't have any advice for an insurance to go for - I'm in much the same boat.
