Hi all.
I'm not new to PCOS or to this site but new to this thread. Cool to see a few active Newfie Cysters!

I'm in St. John's, will be 50 yo (GASP!) in a few months, have 2 daughters (23 and 21) who both have PCOS as well. Currently I'm taking metformin to try and control insulin levels. I am Type 2 Diabetic. I've been controlling my bg levels with diet alone since starting low carbing and had given up the met, but recently added it back to try and lower insulin levels and maybe kick off a bit of weight loss. My oldest daughter is being treated with spironolactone and bcp and my youngest is taking bcp only. I think the youngest is kind of in a bit of denial about PCOS. Neither of them have any serious problems with weight although they have to stay on top of things by watching what they eat and making sure they get enough exercise. Right now I'm a stay at home wife again, I'm practicing for retirement so I can give hubby a few pointers in a couple of years. My oldest daughter is a grad student at U of T but is currently home on sick leave for a condition that seems to be related to PCOS but is being treated separately. She's going back to TO in May to finish up an outstanding work term so she can graduate in Oct. It's looking like she has a job here in town to return to then. Whoo Hoo! My youngest is also living at home and attending CONA. I have an older son (just turned 27) who is living in Que. Anyway, that's me and mine in a nutshell.
