When I was diagnosed, I had never heard of PCOS. I told my friends and family, mostly because I was curious if anyone else had heard of it. They hadn't, so I felt very alone at first. As a few others had mentioned, I felt it was important to tell my parents and in-laws because they kept asking when they would be grandparents. They have been very supportive, though.
