The Patrick Holford low GL diet is great, you can buy the books in any good bookshop or on the web. The Insulin Factor is also a great book, recommended to me by my nutritionist. I have been following the diet quite stictly for a a couple of months and now have regular periods (I haven't had regular periods for over 10 years!) and no more cystic acne, although my hair is still thinning. I'm not overweight and never have been. I too used to have horrible sugar cravings after lunch and now they aren't as bad. My energy levels are also better.
