Are you taking the Meformin in the morning or late at night or both?

I take my Met different than most people suggest but it works for me:

I eat dinner around 5-6ish, have a protein snack around 7-8pm then take my Met right before I go to sleep. I have my pills ready for when I brush my teeth at night. I pop the dosage (all 1500 mgs) and then brush my teeth and go to bed. I wake up only very slightly nauseaus, and then I'm good to go the rest of the day. I'm not on extended release so I don't know how beneficial or harmful it is to take it all at once but it's the only way I can start the Met without getting severely ill. As it is, with this method, my own s/e's are *d* if I eat the wrong foods and gas. But most of the gas occurs while DH is not home, thank God.

I hope you find something that works for you. You may just need to adjust the time you take your Metformin, either day or night-whichever will work best for you.

ps. you may need to take a morning shooter of immodium or something of the like. Not the greatest breakfast in the world, but if it helps you to not be ill, you might have to add it into your morning routine.
