Default Another Newbie.....

I there! My name is Tonya, hence my screen name! Both me and my wonderful DH, Tim, are 38. DH and I have been married for almost 8 years and have never actually not been trying to get pregnant. I have never been officially diagnosed with PCOS, but I have my suspicions. When we first married, I went right to my OB because I have never been regular. He did lots of tests, none of which I can remember. I was on Metformin for 2 years and Clomid on and off for that entire time. I had several P4 tests that slowed that I ovulated but we could never find when I ovulated. The OPK tests would never show a positive.

I have always been overweight, probably weighing approximately 375 to 400 when I got married. I tried to diet and lose weight all throughout our marriage to make it easier to have a baby and would lose weight only to gain it back. I was up to around 425 when we decided to stop with the testing and meds until I could get some weight off. That is when my weight loss surgery journey began. I never wanted surgery, just wanted to be able to do it on my own. Finally broke down and went to the local information session in 2005 and found out that I was too fat to have weight loss surgery here. I was devastated! I tried to lose but only ended up gaining. Finally, in December of 2006, I had gastric bypass surgery approximately 3 hours from my home, at a practice that would operate on people with higher weights. I was told that I had to wait 18 months from my surgery before I could start trying to get pregnant. June will be 18 months and I have lost 237 lbs. I stopped taking my BCP in March and we BDed on CD12, 14, 16, and 18 on that cycle with no luck. This cycle, we did not get much dancing in so we probably won't begin the "official" trying with temping and the whole nine yards until my next cycle.

Well, that was an extremely long introduction! I look forward to hanging around here and learning from all of you about what I can do to get pregnant! I ain't getting any younger! LOL! Thank you to my friend unctoothlady for showing me to this site, and congrats to her on a BFP last Sunday! Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers on the board and I hope to get to know lots of you in the next several months as this journey begins again.
