I think it's an individual thing. It sounds like you are doing the right things--a healthy diet and exercise are important. I don't think that just because a person has PCOS they are automatically going to gain weight. I think genetics and lifestyle choices have a lot to do with it.

Some people like Metformin, others don't. I don't think it did much (if anything) for me, and only made me bloated, but it's worth discussing with your doctor.

BCPs worked really well for me--I never had any problems with them, although I was one who when I stopped taking it for the first time in 8 years I immediately lost 10 pounds, so I'm trying to decide whether or not to go back on them at some point. I liked not having those 10 pounds!
