That's different Depo-Provera is just progesterone. It works the same way as the Mirena IUD in that the lining does not build up. When the lining doesn't build up, you don't have a risk of hyperplasia. Depo has other hormonal issues, but other progesterone-only forms of birth control are perfectly safe.
