Our friend I'vetastedflight it an excellent testament to the flow concern! If you read back on the old thread you can check her post out and her excitement when she switched to the cup! Or, maybe she'll pop by...
One thing to keep in mind is generally the uterus produces and sheds about 3 oz, of fluid per period. That is three Diva-cup-fulls if you fill'er up each time, which you won't, even after 12 hours. If you're paranoid, you can always empty it more often. When I first started using it I was emptying it every 2-3 hours like my tampon schedule, but it was totally un-necessry and I've learned to just let it go to twice a day.
Plus, like a tampon, you can almost kind of "feel" when it's full or getting there. Anyone else ever have this? (I've always wanted to ask someone!!?) I used to be able to tell when a tampon was about to leak, before it would even happen. I guess it's like a vaginal barometer, and it's sort of unconscious sensory input.
