I saw an endo from Cedars Sinai yesterday. It turns out in my labwork I had done last month I had a Free Thyroxine Index test done and it's normal. He said I have all the symptoms of hypo and he would put me on Synthroid but since I had the reactions on it, he doesn't feel it's safe to try it again. I told him I was vegan and he said that was a good thing. Then I said that meant I won't take the animal thyroid and he acted as if he wasn't even thinking of putting me on it.

He said there's nothing that can be done for me and I can come back in a year for blood work and a repeat ultrasound. I asked what about the swelling and fatigue, etc. and he said he had no idea.

Now I have no idea what to do. I was thinking about seeing the endo my GP had referred only because she's female. I'm not sure why that might make a difference, but maybe it will. I am also going to look into alternative therapies and see what the options are. I feel so stuck right now. I'm in my office exhausted and looking at my cankles.

You ask people why they have deer heads on the wall. They always say, "Because it's such a beautiful animal." There you go. I think my mother's attractive, but I have photographs of her.
