Yesterday was my first day on Hyponidd. I'm so totally excited! I just joined this forum, so let me introduce myself:
I've known since I was 17 or 18 that something was wrong. I was diagnosed PCOS officially at 22 after many doctors dismissed and ignored my questions about missing periods and hirsuteness.
Unfortunately that was AFTER I'd been on BCP for 2 years for the missing periods. The BCP shot my cholesterol levels through the roof. At 21 I had a total cholesterol count of 210, with very high triglyceride levels. So I stopped taking BCP, tested testosterone levels around 90, got a PCOS diagnosis and specialist Dr, and started taking Metformin.
Being on Metformin XL was a nightmare I could not have imagined. I was SO sick. If not for the insistence of my Dr. and mother, I would not have been on them so long. By the time I worked my way up to 3 pills a day, I had stabbing pains in my intestines day and night. I couldn't sleep for the pain or hardly eat. Many times I woke up to throw up... before I gave up.
Only at this point does my Dr inform me of the non-XL formulation of Metformin. :-/ I took it. It helped a little. I was so frustrated at that point.
My boyfriend at the time found holistic and alternative medicine for me and encouraged me to find a better way. Since then, I met another friend who introduced me to NAET (Nambudripod's Allergy Elimination Technique), EFT, self-help acupressure, 5 elements acupuncture, and organic eating. In the last 3 years, I have gone from a very asthmatic, sick, and depressed PCOS person, to an awake, functioning, happy person with monthly visits from AF.
But still the question of ovulating AFs and high testosterone levels (that fluctuate with my eating habits :-/) have plagued me. The acupuncture is helping loads (especially with the new Eastern diagnosis of Kidney Yang deficiency!!!) but I have a feeling about Hyponidd. I expect to be an ovulating, emotional girly girl inside 6 months.
Wish me luck, ladies! |
