Many people have brought this issue up to Kat in the "ask Kat" section. I have even suggested the exact same thing you did SandV, making subcategories.
Kat stated that after the upgrades are all done, she's going to look into helping solve the issues in the mens section. I'm pretty sure that the problems with women taking over the section were brought up to her a long time ago, way before the upgrades, and nothing was done then either. I guess time will tell.
