Hi All,
I'm new to this forum, but with the lurking and reading I've been doing, I have a what is probably a stupid question:

I was diagnosed with high cholesterol, high sugar (diabetes type 2) and treated with Lipitor and Metformin by my GP. After being on these pills for 2 or 3 years, I was finally diagnosed with PCOS. As the treatment for that, my gyno put me on bc pills.

Now I'm reading that some of you were given Metformin for PCOS??? I'm totally confused. I was under the impression that it was a diabetic treatment. Was I mislead, or just plain stupid?

On a side note, relating to hair, I've noticed that my body (leg, arm, chin) hair has decreased over the past couple years. I thought it was just a getting older fact of life (I'm 44). Now I read, it may or may not be linked to Metformin?

I'm blown away. I don't know what to think??
