Hi Tiffany! I had lap RNY almost 4 years ago on 8/3/04. I have a good result with it. I've been complication free (with the exception of some milk intolerance & dumping syndrome if I eat too much sugar) and would do it again in a heartbeat. But my tool works still and I'm still at goal. Ok..so I've regained a few pounds but all for good reason. I'm currently pregnant with my 2nd post op baby. I know more people who are complication free with having the RNY than people who've had complications. Even those that have had some kind of complication don't regret having it done and are thrilled with their weight loss and subsequent results. Beth gave you an excellent piece of advice. My WLS has been such a blessing for me. My diabetes & sleep apnea are gone. Unfortunately for me my high blood pressure did return but my doc is sure it's a genetic thing. At least now it's VERY easily controlled with 1 pill a day as opposed to 3 pills a day I was taking before. Also my cycles are normal now (they were non-existant before) and I've been able to get pregnant 2x since surgery both on the 1st month trying. It's quite amazing to go from very infertile to fertile mertyle. If you have questions about the RNY I'd be happy to answer them!
