Default My names Amanda And I'm new here

Hey,
My names Amanda And I'm new here. Im 18 and am currently at Otago University. I was diagnosed with Pcos when I was 13 and wasn't told much except to exercise and eat hardly anything. I was put on the pill and like both my mother and sister, put on a heap of weight, (even though the doctor said the pill doesn't do that). Now a few years later I weigh even more and I have realised that if noone is going to tell me about this condition then I will just have to find out myself. In the process I came across this website which is a bonus. I now know that the best thing I can do for myself is to lose some weight, so thats the focus of next semester.
Anyway, I thought getting to know the other kiwis on here would be good for me as knowledge and therefore, support for pcos is hard to come by.

Amanda.
