Hiya! I wanted to say hey, and to introduce myself.
My name is Shannon but most call me Turt (short of turtle) Ive always had issues as long as I can remember. Started my period on my 11th bd and been bad since.
Ive had nothing but rude and inconsiderate docs intill recently. Ive been put on Metformin after years of being told NO because I was over 25 with two children and that met was only for those who wanted to concieve. I felt isolated in a world of semi cure. Looking to the inside of a positive track. I found a doc recently due to insurance change (hubby lost our really good insurance after 14 years he got fired) and we had to apply for state insurance help and I got a doc who understands and in the first visit asked if i wanted the met. I almost threw up!
I gave up thinking I could have some relief let alone someone who understood. I almost kissed this doctor.
Since being on the met Ive had no issues other then bathroom issues which I have had since a gall bladder went bad 13 years ago anyhow. Iam used to mapping my world to reststops along the way and eating and drinking only when I know I will be home anyhow.
I have spent a few days reading this site and Iam in tears with joy and finaly years of pain Ive been hiding inside has a place to go and commiserate. My cysters do truly understand.
I thank you all from the bottom of my one remaining ovary!
I cannot wait to get to know everyone I can.
Shannon aka Turt
