Hi Torrey! Feel free to post on the Divas thread...don't just lurk! Anyway we've had 2 ladies who've had the VSG (vertical sleeve gastrectomy) and so far are doing well with it. Karli had surgery in January I think...prego brain setting in...and Amanda had surgery a year ago. I do know that with the sleeve that you will be able to eat more at one sitting than if you've had the RNY (bypass) done as you'll have a roughly 4oz stomach as opposed to a 1oz pouch. Also with the sleeve there is no malabsorption so everything you eat will be absorbed the normal way although you'll still have to take vitamins. Anyway the decision is ultimately yours. Has your insurance already approved you for either surgery? Good luck and please...come and post on the Divas thread!
