They look at the length of time it takes for your blood sugar level to get back to normal and how high it gets. I had a Glucose Tolerance test and every 30 minutes they drew blood. At the 1 1/2 hour mark it was 265 and at the 2 hr mark it had only dropped down to 235. It should be back to normal at the 2 hour mark. I am fighting myself about eating what I should....when I don't eat healthy, my blood sugar isn't bad. But if I eat healthy, like today, it was high....so everyday is different and very frustrating...good luck and I hope others can chime in as well....
