Good afternoon lovely ladies,
Avantika-- I actually started noticing the hair loss about 3 months ago and never had an issue before then-- i guess it might have been going on for a longer period of time but I never noticed since I had so much hair on my head. When I talked to my endo she also thought it was strange that I was just loosing my hair now and asked me if I was doing anything different. I am not hypothyroid (not yet anyway) but I did have elevated thyroid antibodies which may eventually lead to hypothyroidism. My endo said it was nothing to worry about and my TSH is 2.37. I have read several articles that your TSH should be below 2.0 although lab tests consider upto 4.5 to be normal so I am a little confused. I have never been on any type of medication until now. I am not comfortable with taking bcp's and spiro long term but I know I need something for now to control my hormones. I have been lucky to not have any weight or acne issues but I think the extra hair is worse :o( I am not sure how many hairs I loose everyday but I hate looking in the shower drain when I wash my hair-- it makes me really sad.
I also try to eat more organic foods and for the past 2 yrs have always tried to use organic milk. I try to stay away from processed foods. I think exercising is very important and am trying to get back in the flow of things.
Skyhunter-- Low iron does cause hair loss but my levels were normal. You should def have it checked as that might be a cause.
WELCOME Shalini- unfortunately I cannot offer any insight as I am not TTC but I do know of some ppl who have conceived without trying medications or surgery but I think it depends on each individuals situation.
Anjali as always I am wishing the best for you and of course all of you ladies.
