If you went this route only one of you would actually be listed as the parent and after you are married the other person could adopt as a stepparent adoption. The way our adoption was suppose to go was it was suppose to be a single parent adoption where I would adopt the baby and if we later got married my husband could adopt the baby as a step-parent.
