I had gastric bypass in 2004. Before my surgery I never got a period or ovulated on my own. We tried to get pregnant for almost 4 years and did two Clomid cycles, but nothing worked. My sugar/insulin was also so out of whack that my doctor told me I was only a few points away from being diabetic. Only a month after having my gastric bypass I began ovulating on my own and was able to get pregnant twice without any medical help at all. Also my sugars and insulin are now completely normal. I used to get the dark patches on my neck and I don't anymore. I also used to have to take high blood pressure and high cholesterol medicine and both are now in the normal ranges.
