I was (finally) diagnosed with endometriosis during laparoscopy in 2006, although I had suspected I had it for several years. My pain dates back to high school, when AF would be so painful that I would miss school. For a long time, I thought that was a normal part of AF. My GYN in high school put me on BCP's, which did help quite a bit. In my early 20's another GYN prescribed pain medication, but never suggested endo. Finally my current RE did a lap and found endometriosis, but thankfully it isn't in a place that may interfere with TTC.

My pain is extremely sharp in the week or so before AF. It honestly feels like I am being raped by a butcher knife. It hurts to have a BM or urinate at that time. The sharp pains usually calm down after the first day or so of AF, and then I just have severe cramping and bloating. Sex is painful in certain positions, particularly those that change the angle or are deep.
