I am glad to here all of the success stories, I started taking metformin about 3 weeks ago, I am currently taking 1000 mg a day and I am due to go up to the next dose of 15000 this weekend. I was diagnosed with PCOS in April by my gyno and she pretty much did nothing only progesterone to get my period. However she failed to tell me all the other stuff that goes along with PCOS. So I read on my own and decided to see and endocrinologist because I also have hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism has a lot of the same symptoms. I am 32 4'6" and i weigh close to 200 pds, have extreme facial hair (wax every week and pluck in between) and I am starting to get really bad acne and I have never had it before even as a teen. I gained 70 of it in 3 years. I haven't gotten my period regularly in about 5 yrs. So needless to say I am looking forward to a change. Sorry so long needed to get that off my chest! |
