I am rather new on here myself so I am sure there are lots more people who can answer this better than myself. I've had PCOS for the last 13 or so years and find the doctors over here in the UK aren't anything like the doctors in the states. I'm on metformin but that is it. Everytime I go to my specialist here in the UK he just shakes it off and tells me no pill will actually work for me. I've read most people are on a dosage of metformin of about 1500mg. I've been on 1000mg for the last 4 years and the doctor says there is no need as the 1000mg is the recommended dose. I find it incredibly frustrating!! I've been on it for 4 years and still haven't had a cycle.
