I know that clomid is quite effective or metformin. My friend was diagnosed with PCOS in July after not having a period for nearly a yr and she got prescribed metformin and she had a period in October. I think Clomid and Metformin are the main 2 meds for this condition in this country but I am no expert so don't quote me on it. I think a lot of it comes down to diet and excercise too. The GI diet is really good for PCOS as it controls your insulin levels better. I've also heard that acupuncture works well (this helped another one of my friends, she had no periods then had acupuncture and her periods were every 5 wks then she fell preg). Hope this helps
