Can vegemite actually go bad? I hope this doesn't come across as some totally stereotypical question you'd ask a bunch of Australians here... I'm serious!
A while ago I bought a jar of vegemite and a jar of marmite because I wanted to try them. I did... then then they got pushed to the back of the shelf and forgotten... now they're expired. Yeah, it was QUITE a while ago... 2 years or so...
The thing is they smell fine. They look fine. They're so salty, can they really go bad??
I wanted to try making vegemite meatloaf. I could buy more but should I?

And how we're guilt-stricken, sobbing, with our heads on the floor
We fell through the ice when we tried not to slip..."
