I went to him after not liking the treatment received from my gyno when it came to having another cyst erupt and my thoughts on maybe having endo. My first appointment with Dr Abae lasted about 45 minutes I would say sitting in his office just discussing my history and he taking notes. From there I have done a few procedures and some blood work so he could do his homework on me and know all before jumping in for this or that surgery.
After two quick procedures and two rounds of different groups of blood work tests, I went in for my appointment today to finally schedule surgery. I think this is the first doctor I've come across where he actually gives a crap about his patients.
The only downside to him is that of the few consultation appointments I've had, he's always running behind. Today I waited about 45 minutes till I was called in to see him. All procedures have been timely. To me, I'm fine waiting knowing that he is going to give me all the time in the world needed and knowing he is doing the same with his other patients. The people in his office (nurses, recept, billing/scheduling) are all very nice. Everyone has always been helpful when I have called with questions or needed to reschedule. I have never been told I would have to leave a message and wait for a call back - someone has always taken the call and answered the questions I had.
There are two other doctors in his office of which one performed one of the quick procedures on me - Dr Christy. He too was very nice and very thorough showing me everything he was looking at, what raised questions to him, explained the big medical terms, etc.
Highly recommended.
