So on closer inspection... the vegemite actually had no expiration date on it. The marmite had an expiration date of Nov 06 - which makes me look back and wonder, hmmm, was it expired when I bought it?? Could have been on the shelf forever, as there's not exactly a run on the stuff here in the states.
At any rate I used the vegemite and it was possibly the best meatload I ever made, LOL. I usually make it with onion soup mix, I wanted to try something different. My son even had seconds, and he hates everything!
But now explain to me... you are in NZ... do you have marmite there? I always thought vegemite = NZ/Oz, and Marmite was more in Britain. I mean obviously you can get them in other places, or I wouldn't be buying them here at all, but help me out with my yeast extract geography here...
