I was diagnosed with type two diabetes in July. I have been trying to control diabetes through diet and exercise and have been sucessful. I am very strict with my diet though. For breakfast I eat morning star farms sausage patties and either special k protein plus cereal or sugar free yogurt. The only bread i have found that I can eat without causing a blood sugar spike is ST jospehs flax seed pitas (i was going to post a link to the info on it but I am too new to do that apparently). The pitas are really soft and they taste like a wheat pita. I use them to make sandwiches, wraps, and as pizza crusts. One of the tricks I have learned for ensuring that I am never hungry is I make sure i have a protein with every meal/snack. For example I have an apple everyday with a teaspoon of peanut butter. I havent cut out carbs like an atkins diet and I have lost over 70lbs since being diagnosed.
