I also feel that it's something we are born with but as mentioned don't realize it until symptoms present. AKA no periods, acne, hair growth etc. I was placed on BCP's at age 16 because of lack of periods or very long cycles and it masked everything. It wasn't until I had a stroke at the age of 20 and had to be taken off the BCP that I was actaully diagnosed.
PCOS is genetic and tends to be passed on through your father. When you mentioned your grandmother and cousins...are they on your father's side of the family? I'd be interested to know if that fact I heard is acurrate.
