Hi Janny,
It's far more common in women according to my endo. He feels I got my hashimoto's (in all likely hood) from my mother having Lupus. I couldn't say for sure, but there you have it. Just got my NEW endo to put me on a t3/t4 combo called thyrolar. Will be starting it next week, since this week Im out of country. Happy holidays all.
