The metformin should help control your blood sugar if it is indeed too high! I was taking only metformin for a while but it stopped being enough to keep my sugar under control so my doctor added a small dose of Actos. That is if you are indeed diabetic. You may have something else going on that you don't know about so def ask a doctor about it.
