Before my Weight loss surgery... I participated in a Diabetic study. I was dx type 2 Diabetic back in 2001 because of my severe insulin resistance. I was taking metaformin from May 2001 til Oct 21, 08. My metaformin dosage went up and down, as my weight did. I usually have low blood sugar and I can eat some sugar to bring it up. My A1c was 6.2% when I was 1st test in 2001. It has been between 5.3 - 5.9% since. I havent took any metaformin for awhile and I feel alot better. Some weight loss, as any weight loss helps.
