To Deborah: Weight Watchers, in my opinion (I've never done it but I've watched what "normal" friends who have successfully done it eat and know it won't work for us), is not suitable for PCOS because it allows many carbs/higher glycemic foods. I've read all the books -- Atkins, IR, SugarBusters, Ultrametabolism, You on a Diet, South Beach, etc etc. They are all interesting, but in truth unnecessary. Just don't eat sugar or white foods (bread, pasta, potato). Eat lots of veggies, steel cut oats, lean meats, legumes, some eggs, and lower glycemic fruits (lots of websites will tell you what these are -- berries, cherries, fresh "stone" fruits (peaches, plums, etc.), and some apples and pears. That's really all there is to it. I find it very hard to stick to eating that way but it's the only thing that has ever worked for me.
