I was diagnosed with elevated insulin hyperinsulinaemia in April 2007. At that time I was on my husband's group insurance. New job here in Atlanta the group insurance is $800 PER MONTH. So we applied for individual. I can't get it because of the diagnosis. They know I have it because they ask if you're on medication. I take Metformin. Until today I hadn't seen a doctor since my husband lost his job right before Christmas in 2007. Finally went to an endo today because my scrip for Met has expired. Had to pay cash for the visit $250, but at least they let me make payment arrangements for the labs which were $600. I'm so incredibly bummed because since we moved here I haven't been able to find a job.
