I would call the Luthren Social Services just to see what they have to offer you.

If you choose to do Foster/Adopt, be prepared that some children may come into your home only to leave after many weeks/months. We were fortunate enough to have children come into our home and stay (never had one leave). They were 10 and 24 months when they arrived and were adopted about 14-15 months later. Of course, ours are probably the exception in that neither left our home and both were adopted very quickly.

We had no fundraisers, our adoptions cost about $1000 each, which was re-imbursed by my employer. Sometimes the fees are waived or paid for by CPS. Remember, that there is a tax benefit where un-reimbursed adoption costs can be claimed against your federal taxes - so you will probably get the money back at tax-time.

I send you best wishes in your journey.
