My last RE ran a panel of thyroid, DHEA, testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, liver enzymes (prep for met), and basic bloodwork and the total before insurance touched it was $900 just for blood. A lot of un or under-insured cysters have gotten their metformin from Walmart for $4, but you have to have liver tests done periodically.
