I understand your frusterations. Even though I am being treated, I know I am not being treated propperly because I seem to know much more than my doctor does about thyroid disease. I'm in the process of finding a new doctor.
You said that your levels are "normal" but do you know what your actual TSH is? If you don't get a copy of your lab results from your doctor. Many doctors use outdated ranges as high as 4-5 and some people still have symptoms when they are being treated and have a TSH much, much lower. If your doctor isn't listening to you then you need to find a new doctor. You know your body better than your doctor does because you live in it every day. Get a second opinion and find some answers! That goes for your IR as well. Find a doctor that will educate you on propper nutrition and possibly meds if that is what is best for you.
