If you haven't had your blood checked for anti-thyroid antibodies (not sure what the true name is), you should. TSH reflects thyroid levels circulating in the body, but antibodies tell the dr. if any damage has occurred to the gland itself. When I was diagnosed, my "numbers" were borderline, but a certain level of antibodies was also present in the blood. Therefore, I had thyroid damage and it was going to continue to impair my hormone production, so dr. started me on meds to get levels right again.
