Hi Atlanta Chick! I had RNY (GB) on 8/3/04 so I'm 4.5 years post op now and doing well.

If so, what was your out come? I've done well. I lost 114lb initially but have regained a few lbs (10-15) but I've also had 2 babies in that time. I went from a size 24/26 to a 6/8. My diabetes & IR are gone, my sleep apnea is gone, my hypertension went away but came back (very strong family history of it), my PCOS is in remission and I went from infertile (clomid resistant and responded poorly to injections) to very fertile (got pregnant 2x both the 1st month not using protection).

How does if feel now? Wonderful. I'm out there living life instead of watching it go by.

Is there any depression? not for me but it can happen which is why you go through a psych eval. Also get involved with a support group so that you can get support from others who've had the same surgery as you because no one knows more what your going through than someone else who's done it.

Have your PCOS symptoms improved? Oh yeah. Periods went from nonexistant to every 28-30 days with ovulation. Skin tags are no more, AN is gone, IR/diabetes is gone...

Body/Facial hair difference? It's not getting better but it definitely STOPPED getting worse!!

Just any information you have would be greatly appreciated? Get involved with a support group like I said up above. Get a toddler size plate so you can 'trick' your mind into feeling satisfied with little food, same with a toddler sippy cup so you don't take too big of a drink early post op. Take full body pictures/measurements and a close up of your face. Wear something clingy and keep these clothes to wear each month as you do new pictures. It will help you see the weight loss because you won't see it in the mirror.

Good luck!!! If you like there's a buddy group on the D&E buddies forum called WLS Divas...if you like you're more than welcome to post there, we're kinda like a support group.
