They definitely help, but are a temporary fix. Things like Xanax work great, but you can develop a dependance on them if they're overused and also you can build up a resistance if used too frequently.

If used sparingly though, I've found that they take the edge off and help me to calm down enough to function.

I'm also struggling with anxiety and am using Xanax when it's really bad. I'm also working with some holistic/natural docs and some of the stuff they've had me try has helped some.

Here they are so you can do a little research on them.

- there's a sublingual called "gabacalm" my naturopath calls them "herbal xanax". YOu can take a ton of these and they're totally safe.

- My newest doc has me taking straight Gaba at night (500mgs) This is probably going to take a while to work.

- I've also tried 5-htp. (don't take with antidepressants unless guided by a doc) This helped me a ton at first but didn't seem to last. (I think I have adrenal issues though so that may be why) Worth trying though, because when it did, I felt awesome. Just make sure it's from a good source and has a combo of b6 in it. My naturopath recommended the brand "Carlsons"

Hope this helps a little?
