Your Dr dealt with this very badly. What he should have said was "this isn't my forte do you mind if i ask you to see Dr xxxx instead?"

However I do think that his honesty is refreshing and because if it you won't be dealing with a Dr that is just going to fob you off. Go back and ask who does deal with "womens problems" and get an appointment and referred to a specialist if necessary

For what it's worth the NHS isn't the best health system in the world but it's far from being the worst, like evey company it's got it's strengths and weaknesses and while i've had problems regarding PCOS and fertility in other areas it's been a life saver
