welcome to sc  sorry your dr wasnt much help. Ive been told before by a male gp to see female dr ...... instead. Perhaps thats what he meant, but it came out wrong? 
i had to change gp surgery to get pcos help. Is that an option for you?? or else could you ring the surgery and ask them to recommend a female/or understanding gp at your present surgery??
