To treat Endometriosis, you have get rid of the endometrium growths or have strict control over your periods. Some women with Endometriosis only feel pain around their period and others have pain ALL the time no matter when their period is happning.

The *best* way to get rid of pain from Endometriosis is to just get rid of the Endometrioum growths via Lap surgery. Afterwards you are put on BCP to keep the Endometrium from returning. You must understand that the Endometrium growth is caused by hormones.

Other women find help with BCP's b/c it controls their periods (makes them shorter), so their pain is not as consistent or as long. When you have a period - your uterus sheds the endometrium cells (lining). Those Endometrium growing outside the uterus (Endometriosis definition) also bleed - which casues pain and scarring. This can also cause damage to parts.

The Menopause you are talking about is a GnRH agonist drug called Lupron Depot. It does put you in a "menopause" to rid your body of all hormones to shrink and destroy those Endometriosis growths. Using hormones with Lupron would defeat the purpose.

You have to look at your pain level, what you are willing to try, and how much you want to pay as each therapy has different costs. This information is only from me, so I would suggest checking out the Endometriosis Association and collecting as much information as possible. Knowledge is the best medicine sometimes.

As for me I've done BCP's, surgery, and Lupron.

Good luck

Your Beauty should not come from outward adornment.....instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:3-4)
