I was diagnosed with PCOS last Fall in late August and was put back on BCP (first Yaz, then switched to Desogen) to treat it (I had been off of it for about a year). About 2 weeks after starting back on the pill I started devloping what I thought was really bad acne on my chest. As it progressed it started to look more like a rash, too since it seemed to be spreading quickly all over my chest. It was a mix of red bumps and tiny little whiteheads. After visits to 3 different dermatologists, I tried treating it as contact dermatitis and cut all sorts of irritants out of all my products. Then they thought it might be a staph infection but determined it wasn't after a culture. I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing seems to work to make it go away completely. Some days it seems to get better and other days it flares for no reason. I'm wondering if it could have something to do with the BCP? I have been on this same pill in the past and this never happened before. Am I having some sort of different response to the hormones since I now have PCOS? The pill worked wonders to clear up the PCOS-related acne on my face, now I can't understand why my chest has this weird acne/rash thing going on! Anyone have any thing similar or know what it might be???
