Sorry, I'm not from Germany but from The Netherlands, the next best thing ;) Here we call pcos also pcos, but it stands for 'polycysteus ovarium syndroom'. Doctors in NL know about the syndrome (though perhaps not as much as in the US, until they do a little pubmed research) so I'm pretty sure they also do in your heimat :)
