I took Cytotect for my first miscarriage back in 11/2208(10 weeks). I recently had a chemical pregnancy which I lost naturally (March 2009). Although I found the medication experience to be painful, I was glad I didn't need to have a D&C. I took the medication (inserted vaginally) around 1pm and nothing happened until 6-7 pm when I started some mild cramping. Around 8pm the cramps became more severe, and at that time I took the Ibuprofen 800 my MD ordered. At 10pm the pain stopped completely and I when I went to the restroom, I passed some clots and had increased bleeding. I went for a follow-up ultra-sound the next day and it was confirmed that I had passed everything.
I was told by the sonogram tech that it would have been more painful if I had not taken the medication, so I was really frightened when I was told that I was going to have to let my period just start on it's own with my most recent loss. My MD told me it would only be slightly heavier then a normal period, and he was right. I had some very mild cramping and no real pain. I assume that may be because the loss was so early--only 4 weeks.
I would assume that the medication you took would have started working by now. I would contact my MD and inform that you are having no response so he can advise you on what to do going forward. I am sorry for your loss and I hope you get it resolved soon. |
