Default Exact same experience!

I've always been very thin and have always had irregular periods. Three years ago, my doctor ran tests and found that I had polycystic ovaries. Like your doctor, she would not diagnose me with PCOS because my androgens were low, and I don't have any other symptoms. She suggested I gain weight. I gained about 5 pounds and reached a near normal BMI, but my cycles are still irregular, and I'm still unable to conceive. I sought a second opinion, and the doctor said the same -- that my body weight is the problem, not the polycystic ovaries, though he did concede that I do maybe have a 'mild' case of PCOS. My doctor finally agreed to prescribe Clomid, which I took for four cycles. I ovulated each time according to the blood tests but did not conceive. Frustrated, I went to a fertility doctor, who said that because I ovulated on Clomid, my fertility problems likely are due to PCOS and not low body weight, as women who have hypoathalymic amenorrhea don't respond to Clomid. He wants me to undergo hormone tests and an ultrasound yet again to confirm a diganosis, have an HSG to test my fallopian tubes, and then start IUI. I'm so frustrated, and I wish I'd seen a specialist sooner!!
