I am sorry for your loss (*hugs*)
I think it's a matter of when the progesterone starts decreasing, and the HCG. Also, I think it may depend on how far along you were, how far the miscarriage has already progressed, etc...
So many things play a factor. Some woman wait a day, some wait a couple of weeks. I've never used progesterone, but my first miscarriage I miscarried within two days of my HCG started decreasing. This time, I was a week to a week and a half further along, and I didn't start m/c'ing on my own. After waiting two weeks I had the doctor prescribe me cytotec to speed things up. I miscarried within hours of inserting the pills. My progesterone was rather high with the second pregnancy, and I was further along. I believe that's why it was taking so long.
I think you should call your doctor. My RE's office watched how things were progressing for the m/c. When we confirmed that the pregnancy was non-viable, they told me to go home and wait to m/c. They told me that if nothing happened by the time two weeks was up, to give them a call. I don't know your doctor's office's poilicy, but I recommend calling to see.
The wait for m/c is very difficult. Hopefully your RE's office can give you a better idea. Sorry that my experience is so varied, bt how we miscarry can be so totally different. There really isn't a norm, it's all just varying levels of awfulness.
Again, I am sorry for your loss.
Take care of yourself hun.
